Founded by a former graphic designer with a passion for cooking and Japanese culture, Karēkami is where creativity meets comfort food. Guided by the comforting memories of home-cooked meals, he traded his mouse for a ladle, and sketchbooks for recipe notebooks. What started as a love for perfecting curry at home became a mission to create bento that speak to local taste buds—rich, hearty, and just a little spicier than the traditional Japanese style.
Karēkami’s journey began in 2023 as Karē at One North (Fusionpolis), where we served comforting Japanese curry in take-out bento boxes — a quick, satisfying, and affordable meal for the busy office crowd. What started as a simple idea soon grew into a passion for sharing the warmth and heartiness of Japanese curry with more people.
In August 2025, we relocated to Tang Plaza and rebranded as Karēkami, expanding our menu with more curry options, Teriyaki Dons and refreshing salad bowls.
With this new chapter, we aim to share our passion for our fusion Japanese curry with an even wider community of curry lovers. Our goal is to bring comfort, flavor, and a bit of heat to every bowl we serve.
